Cool. Cool, cool. Well, thank you everyone for taking the time out to join me this morning. As I’ve mentioned I really, really want this hour, this power hour that we have together to really inspire you to look within yourself. I’m gonna be sharing a few tools and this very powerful framework that I work with personally and professionally. So I’m gonna ask you in a second, so just to start thinking what kind of

really spoke to you about this workshop and, you know, what kind of did it make you think, oh, that’s

interesting. I would like to get involved in that, you know, what was the main driver? And so we can kind

of set some intentions and, and look at kind of where you’re at and, and what you wanna get out of the

next hour.


So we’re talking about energising your life and your business from the inside out. That is what we’re

covering. Oh, we’ve got more people coming in.

What is one thing you cannot do without in your life and your business? What might that be?


Oxygen. Yeah, absolutely. Yep. Pretty much need that. Definitely <laugh>. Thank you. Alex. Health.

Sorry, what’s that? Health, health, health. Yes. Absolutely. Yeah, And well, yeah, actually both of those

things. Post covid and health for sure. Yeah. Anybody else? Wellbeing, yeah, you’ve got that as well,

Allison. Okay. So I’ll, I’ll put you out of your, oh, the anticipation. What is, what is the answer? Well, all of

those answers are totally relevant and totally right. It’s energy. So oxygen is energy. And so too is our

wellbeing. And that’s what we’re gonna focus on today. The fact that without our energy, our emotional,

mental, and physical energy, then how can we live our lives? Right? How can we show up in our

businesses and show up in our relationships in our lives? It’s, it’s impossible.


So today I’m gonna be talking very much about energy and I’m gonna introduce some different concepts

of how we’re gonna look at our wellbeing energetically. So let’s crack on.


So the type of coaching I do very much focuses on this thing that I call energetic mastery. And it’s all

based around, everything is energy. So as you’ve got all of those wizzy GIFs that you can see we are

cellular, energetic beings. We have energy in every cell of our being, trillions of them, in fact.


And they’re all communicating to keeping us breathing, keep our heart beating, and all of those things,

right? To keep us alive. On from that, if we can actually start to tap into this energy and bring a greater

level of awareness and intentionality to it, then actually we can tap into even more energy, more than

we even thought possible. So this is what we’re gonna talk about today. So it’s all about harnessing the

power that you have inside of you.


Because sometimes life, right? We talked about it this morning, life happens, life beats us down and it

can get us to a point where we feel maybe, you know, strung out and not very energetic. What I have

been very much practicing over the last month, cause I’ve just finished a breath work certification and

how to facilitate better breathing techniques is to know that the power is always within you. It might be

hidden, but it is always within you. And so I’m gonna share some techniques and tools later on that’ll be

able to help you access those as well.


So I mentioned before I had another question, if you would like to unmute yourself or I’m happy to put it

in the chat, what specifically helped you kind of come to today’s workshop? Yeah. What, what kind of

was the, the key that got you? Or is it something that you’re feeling at the moment that you are looking

I think I, to me it was just, it was that word energy. It’s, you know, we’re forever looking for more. I feel

like particularly running a business, we’re juggling so many things. Yeah. We’re nonstop.


Yeah. Yeah. Absolutely. Alex. Yeah, true, true, true, true.


Definitely energy and just feeling as if you are in a better place to start next year, because I’ve not had a

hugely healthy year this year and I’d like to make next year better.


Yeah. Love that. Love that. Absolutely.

You put yourself back on. Sorry. I think we’ve just had some feedback of some kind. Lucinda, you’ve said

that you’re struggling with motivation at the moment. Well, that’s absolutely fine. Cause we’re gonna be

talking about motivation for sure. Heather needs some positive energy. Absolutely. You’re in the right

place. You’re in the total right place. Okay. So thank you for sharing that. We shall get moving.


Okay, so today is power hour. It’s gonna be about identifying what might be draining you of your energy.

It also is gonna help you identify what lifts you up, what energises you. And then as I’ve mentioned

we’re gonna talk about how to shift your energy. But the important bit in between that is we identify

what those drainers are, or what those energizers are, but it’s about bringing greater awareness to it so

we can start to see patterns.


So we can either break a pattern and create a new one or create a whole new pattern that actually

supports our wellbeing and supports our motivation. So I did also mention that there’s gonna be some

techniques. So that’s gonna be a little bit later on towards the end. And we’re gonna try some stuff

together. At any point if you have any questions, feel free to put it in the chat, unmute yourself and

shout out, I really, really want this to be a benefit to all of you, that you can go away and actually utilise

some of these tools in your own life and business. So I’m gonna close with, there’s a bit of an

opportunity to go deeper if you would like. Okay.


So a little bit about me, for those of you who don’t know me, I have been coaching for the last four

years. I am a pure energy specialist, so that’s just the type of coaching that I do. So it’s all based around

energy, which is kind of quantum physics meets psychology, if you like. I very recently became a

breathwork facilitator, so that’s why I’m here in Greece at the moment. I’ve just finished a one month

course doing that. And I am a master practitioner in an assessment called energy leadership that I’ll be

talking a little bit about later on.


Essentially, I am beyond passionate, I live, breathe, and eat this stuff. I help people master their mindset

and regulate their emotions to identifying these drivers and drainers of your energy. And then

importantly, it’s like, okay, all information is neutral. It’s what we do with that information that makes

the difference.


So I’m very much very, very passionate about treating each of you uniquely. I don’t think anyone is the

same. We can all create our very own unique energetic success formula. So I’ll be touching on that as we

go. And, you know, ultimately we’re, we’re heading into Christmas, you know, it’s a stressful time, right?

For lots of different reasons. And so it’s about taking some time out to reduce any unnecessary stress to

actually create a feeling of more grounded confidence and inner peace. That’s kind of, those are the

headlines. That’s what I all want for you. Christmas gift to you all. <Laugh>. okay, let’s move on.


So, I mentioned that everything is energy. I want to really help you look at and, and consider that all

energy is moving all of the time in you. So it’s continually like this wave and you have peaks and you

have troughs.


So it is about riding the waves emotionally, mentally, and physically. We can’t all be this, you know,

Energiser bunnies constantly. And obviously we have problems if we have a long term of depression or

illness, that kind of flat lines our wave. So it’s about noticing where we are on our wave, but also

knowing that this too shall pass. You’re, you’re up there, this too shall pass, you’re down there, this too

shall pass. So it’s about coming into the present moment and acknowledging where we are and knowing

that, you know what, I’m gonna be up here some days and I’m gonna be down there some days. And all

of it is simply energy. It’s not good. It’s not bad. It is simply energy.


So I’m gonna help hopefully plant some seeds about, you know, you can’t stop this wave, but you can

learn how to surf it. Okay? That’s what we’re wanting to do. Master surfers. That’s what we’re all gonna

be. So another little question on a scale of one to five. So one being low, five being high, how energised

would you say that you’re feeling right now in this moment? You can shout it out in the chat.


Four, seven <laugh>. We’ve got a mix. Cool. Okay. Brilliant. Thank you for adding that in. So, you know,

we’re constantly up and down energy levels, right? So, you know, for some of us, yeah, we might be

feeling a one yesterday we might be feeling a five. This is about, you know, honouring and accepting

that, you know, some days are gonna be low waves and other days are gonna be higher parts of the

wave. So the benefits of what we’re gonna try and get to with this self leadership, this energetic

leadership that we’re gonna be talking about today. I thought it would be important to point out, and

this is the work that I practice personally in my own life, as well as helping other people do this too. The

first point is all about inner resilience. And this is about strengthening your ability to handle whatever

life throws at you.


So that wave analogy, you know, that you could be swimming along and a big wave can come in and you

get a mouth full of water, it takes you over. We’ve all been there, I’m sure. So the resilience part is a

practice and it’s a strengthening from the inside out to remember and to anchor into, another water of

analogy, that you’ve survived all the challenges that you’ve had thus far in your life, haven’t you? So the

chances are you’re gonna handle all the rest of the challenges that will come. So I think sometimes we

need to stop and reflect and recognise this fact. Okay?


Emotional agility, that’s seeing every challenge as an opportunity for growth. So if you take nothing else

from our conversation today, I want you to start to think about emotions being energy in motion.

They’re not good, they’re not bad. They’re just different kinds of energy.


You know, a lot of the time people and for how many of you, maybe they’ve got children or you

remember being a child yourself. If you started to cry and your parent might have said, oh, don’t cry,

don’t cry. I, I will say here now, I’m a huge advocate for crying. I think it’s the healthiest thing in the

world. And that is an energetic release. We laugh when we are joyous. We cry when we are sad. And

that is totally fine. It’s how we’re built. So emotional agility is about being able to feel your feelings and

know that there are no good or bad emotions. So it’s allowing yourself to have to be human and to not

be this toxic, positivity person of cheer up and always having a smile on your face because you know

what? That isn’t reality. And we are, we are emotional beings that think rather than it being the other

way around. So this framework I’m gonna share with you in these exercises are gonna be about

resiliency, but also agility as well.


Holistic health. We have people talk about wellbeing. This looks to improve your mental health, your

emotional, and your physical wellbeing. Because we’re all one holistic being there is no, you know you

can’t break it apart. We are mind, body, and spirit in one. Sometimes we can be so in our heads that we

forget about our body and that we are these powerful beings. So this is about bringing all of those

elements together that we’re gonna be talking about. Okay? The last one is self-empowerment, which is,

you know, what? You have got everything you need within you right now. Some of it might be hidden or

buried, but it’s there.


Trust that it’s there. I, I wanted to share a really, really quick story cause I love it so much. And I told

lords of people on my training just recently. It’s, it’s an Indian fable, and it talks about when all humans

were gods, when we had infinite powers, the story goes human beings started to not really act well with

the powers. So the powers that be decided to take the powers away from human beings. So, because

they thought, well, you know, you’re not really respecting them. You’re just, you know, floating them

about, you’re not really kind of honouring this power, so we’re gonna remove it from you.


So a group of these gods were thinking, well, where should we put it? Where should we hide this, this

power, this life force? Oh, I know one of them said, we’ll, we’ll hide it at the top of the mountain

because they’ll never think to look for it there. No. Well, you know what, they’ll probably, someone will

explore and they’ll find it, they’ll find it there. So no, that wouldn’t work. Someone else, oh, we’ll hide it

at the bottom of the ocean. They’ll, they’ll never find it there. Well, no, I don’t think that would work

either. So the main God said, I’ve got it. I know the exact place to hide this infinite power source. And I

know exactly where to hide it, and they’ll never think to look for it. Any guesses? Feel free to unmute

Yes, exactly. It’s inside of us.. Yes, it’s inside of us and it’s there. And I am very passionate about helping

people tap back in and remember. So some of this might be unlearning and learning something new.


Okay, so I’ve just talked about energy and motion. There are two types of energy that we work with.

There is expanding energy. So this is the blue surging arrow up at the top where we literally feel

expansive in terms of breath work. Obviously when we inhale, we’re inhaling oxygen and our body

actually expands to take in the oxygen to deliver it to our body. And so that’s all about uplifting energy.

So the emotions to do with this are all around things like hopefulness, optimism, positive being

enthusiastic, passionate, and the highest frequency of them all is joy and love and freedom. Just being

totally, you know, pumped full of it. You’ll probably know a time when you were most joyous, have a

think about what did that feel in your body? What did your face look like? You know, were you animated

you know, what were you physically doing?


That’s such a great feeling. Okay. and I Love Lucy little GIF shows as well. She’s celebrating the, the

emotional contraction. And you could also say that this is an exhale, inhale, expand, exhale, contract. It’s

in our bodies. This spiral of energy gets a bad wrap. Because who wants to feel fear? Who wants to feel

anger or blame or doubt or pessimism? Nobody. It’s not pleasant, right? But it’s necessary. Yeah, you

probably have come across the phrase, pain is necessary. Suffering is optional. It’s about not marking

this contraction side of emotions as being bad. And the, the expanding one being good. No, they’re just

different types of energy and they surface in different ways. The superpower piece I’m gonna be talking

about later, the difference is becoming more conscious, more self-aware of how you’re feeling in your

body and being able to shift out of a contraction place.


A huge 90% of our behaviour comes from our unconscious mind. So there’s a lot of little trauma, big

trauma that sits in our unconscious. So often when we get triggered by something, something will come

up from the depths of within us and it’ll pull us down. Some of this inner work is just to be

compassionately curious of yourself as to how you can leverage these two types of energy. So expansive

energy and contracting energy, all are welcome. We’re just gonna ride this wave with more

intentionality to not get stuck in one or the other because we’re meant to experience it all. Any

questions at this point?


Okay, you all good? Let’s keep moving. You may have seen this wheel. This is an emotional wheel. At the

centre, or the first wheel that you’ll see is primary emotions. So things like fear, anger, disgust, sadness,

happiness, surprise, they’re all feelings that we can probably all name easily. The second mid wheel is

the secondary emotion. So for example, if we’re feeling angry underneath that anger is probably hurt.

Insecurity, madness, aggression, irritable, being irritable, distant, critical. I often say to people, you

know, people who are exhibiting a lot of anger are actually people who need the most love, but they ask

for it in the most ridiculous ways because I dunno about you, but if I come across anyone that’s anger,

that’s angry, my immediate reaction is to kind of, oh, step away. You know, but when you look

underneath, it’s, it’s often unresolved pain that’s creating this anger and it comes out this way. So it’s a

really good tool.


The reason I bring it up is that it’s the link between the surface level emotion, that we name, actually

okay, what’s underneath that, really what’s feeding that. And then the outer wheel is the body

sensations. So when we think of expansion, when we’re feeling joyful, we feel open, energetic, awake,

inflated, tall. You know, your whole body opens up, calm, steady, relaxed, warm, buzzing light. It’s all

that wobbly energy. But when we’re feeling maybe angry or in a fear state, then we might feel heat in

our body. We might feel constricted, we might feel tense in our body and not as flowing. And it’s this

awareness of what’s happening with our body connects our mental understanding of it, but also our

physiology, because there lies this power that you can tap into the energy to be able to release it. So this

is what we’re gonna be focusing on. Okay?


Love Jim Carey. Anybody else? Do we have any Jim Carey fans in the, in the, in the room? So stress, not

all stress is bad. You know, we are survival. Our most primitive part of our brain, our reptilian brain is

there to signal dangers. It just so happens that it’s no longer sabretoothed tigers that trigger us.

Sometimes it can be opening an email that we don’t wanna read. But our body still has that learned

reaction of that fight or flight. So again, it’s that sensation in your body. The difference between

reaction, which is stress, which is unconscious, that, you know, coming from below to the, to the above.

And the response piece is conscious choice. And the real bit that I wanna focus in on is our perception.

How we see ourselves and how we see the world around us hugely impacts our stress levels.


So an example might be, if I see the world as a dangerous place and I see everyone as being out there

for themselves, then I’m probably gonna be very highly triggerable. If someone comes up to me to ask

me something that I don’t know, because my perception of the world of it being dangerous, my alarm

part of my brain might fire off and I might, you know, react to someone. In opposition to that is if my

perception of the world is that it’s a safe place and full of beautiful, lovely people and someone

approaches me that I don’t know, then my reaction is, oh, my response is gonna be very different. Okay.


So there are just two differences. So between stimulus be that a situation, an event or a person. And the

response, it’s remembering that there’s space. And in that space, this is the practice of self-awareness.

To be able to try and take the space and the grace for yourself to remember that there is space for you

to respond and that you don’t have to always react. Okay?


So this is the interactive part. I’m gonna be introducing you to a framework that I use in my coaching.

You’ll see from the purple graphic there. We’re gonna be looking at how your core thought influences

your core emotion, that hugely influences your behaviour, your action, your results of that. So it’s this

chain reaction. I have put in the chat and I can put it in again, if you don’t have it, a document that you

can actually use here to begin to look at how this is affecting you, because there’s seven types of energy

that I’m gonna be taking you through. And so together we’re gonna explore what that looks like for you,

what resonates, what doesn’t, what you want more of, what you want less of. This is where we’re gonna

identify what’s draining you and what’s driving you and your energy levels.


Okay? And again, stop me if you have any questions or if I’m going too fast tell me cause I’m very

excited. Okay? So we’re gonna start off with level one of an energy level. And I give it a name just

because I think of this as almost like an archetype. But nobody is ever any one level of energy. We are a

beautiful mix of all seven at any one given amount of time. But this level of energy all looks at this

contraction. I suppose. We are at our most contracted. So the bottom of that spiral of energy when we

experience powerlessness. So if you think about someone who’s totally blinkered and is, doesn’t see the

rest of it because they might be very much focused on a thought that says, you know what? I’m a loser.

What’s the point? And you know, we might say, well, I can’t do this.


I’m not, I’m not good enough. And that feeling of being powerless might, you know, have us feeling

fearful, fearful of, of not being good enough. It might cause a lot of self doubt. A lot of worry. Even like,

what if, what if I’ve started this business and I don’t know what I’m doing? What if people find me out?

We’ve all got that imposter syndrome that likes to jump up every time we try something new. And it

really can impact us in such a way that you feel like you wanna hide away. You feel like you wanna go in

the fetal position, pull a cover over your head, and, and that be that for the day. Hands up. Who has felt

that? And you could be feeling that now, right? And it’s all understandable and it’s all our beautiful part

of our makeup.


But like I said before, it’s always changing. You’ll never really get stuck anywhere because energy in

motion changes. So with this, out of the, that feeling of, of fear where we’re in doubt, then we tend to,

you know, off the back of that, our behaviour becomes very lethargic. We have little motivation. And so

we just kind of go, oh, what’s the point? Right? Now there are advantages and disadvantages to, to

being in this state. And the disadvantages speak for themselves. So you, when we’re, when we’re

experiencing powerlessness, we have little or no engagement or motivation for rules or tasks in our

businesses. I’m sure we’ve all got specific tasks that we don’t particularly love and that we can, you

know, we can feel, make us feel drained. At a certain point. We also, when we’re powerless or feeling

powerless, we have difficulty in driving changes.


So, you know, to actually make a change often takes quite a lot of energy. And if you’re depleted, then it

can be really difficult. We’re heavily blinkered so we can be very woe is me, it’s not fair. Hence why here

I chose this GIF to be a child because I think we can all, when we feel powerless, it’s inner child that’s

often popping to the surface, right? That just wants somebody to come and look after us. And we can

ultimately feel at the effect of life. And we can be very problem focused, all totally natural, totally

understandable. And we shouldn’t judge ourselves for being in this state because life comes sometimes

throws us a lot of curve balls. You may be thinking, well, what could possibly be any advantage to

experiencing powerlessness? I cannot see this what whatsoever when we are in this state, actually, it

can be very good for our self protection.


We can actually move ourselves out of harm’s way. We can receive sympathy from others, right? It’s

actually energy saving. We get to recharge, renew. And ironically, when we are vulnerable, when we

show vulnerability and say, you know what, I’m not feeling great. I’m not gonna say I’m fine where I’m

not, we can actually create deep levels of connection with other people because probably everybody on

this call has felt this state at one time or another in their life. So we can all empathise. So if you’ve got

that page open of the the document, I just want you to know and feel free to share. You don’t have to.

What about this powerlessness state? What resonates with you here in your business? What, where

does this show up for you in your business?


And it can be anything. You know, or even looking at what triggers you to get to this date. Feel free to

put it in the chat or yeah, imposter syndrome, not feeling like I can do it. Totally. Alex, lack of

confidence. Elizabeth. Yeah, yeah. Lucinda, you said about being able to cope and control when working,

but not in personal life, right? Yeah. That’s also, it’s the pivoting from work life to personal life as well.

Huge lack of sleep.Yes. That’s a huge one. That’s a foundational piece, right? Too much comparison. Oh

yes. I know that one very well. Perceived success, completing tasks outside of my genius, website.

Photos. I doubt my ability, Heather. Totally get that. Poor boundaries, Helen? Yeah, absolutely. Yeah.

And all really valid things, right? And, and it, it affects us. It hugely affects us.


So in the document that I’ve shared with you that you’ll see a table. So just to note out, what’s some

thoughts that you think to yourself? What’s your inner narrative, your inner critic saying to you? What

feelings come up as a point of that? And actually what’s the outcome? So it then might be, I’m not good

enough. The feeling might be insecurity. And then the outcome might be, well, I I avoid doing my

website, or I avoid showing on, on video, right? So ultimately we’re not getting where we need to be

because we’re stuck in this mindset and this feeling. So yes, it’s the mind, but it’s also the body’s feeling.

After we go through each, I’m gonna go through how we shift out of this state because we totally can

very quickly and very easily. So let’s move on to the next one.


This is level two. So we’re going up the, the levels, from the contracted state up to the expansive state.

So this is all about the conflicted business owner. So your core thought here might be, well, you lose, I

need to win, get out of my way, right? Force. The core feeling could be anger, frustration, agitation. I

feel agitated that I’m ready to explode, right? And then the core action out of that is around this fighting

kind of force, hustle mentality that some people have naturally. And you know, it is almost this coercion,

this I’ve gotta force myself to do things. I’ve gotta fight for what I want. And it’s a powerful energy. It’s a

really powerful energy used consciously. It’s even more powerful, used unconsciously. It can be very

destructive for yourself and those around you. So advantages, you can get done in the short term when

you’re in this.


I, for myself, when I’m feeling angry, I clean my house because I can do it faster than when I’m joyful. So

that is a task that I’ve attributed to that when I feel angry, I clean my house. And other advantages, you

might appear confident, successful, assertive, extroverted, and, and vocal, right? You have an opinion. It

can be good for protection. So setting boundaries. If people know that you’re very strong and vocal, they

might kind of avoid troubling you thinking, don’t mess with that. No, it’s not worth it. You,’re nobody’s

fool, don’t mess with me. And when controlled, like I say, can be extremely powerful, cause you can tap

into this assertiveness around setting your boundaries and standing in your power and truth and

knowing when to flex and, and when to be a little bit more rigid. I guess really just to communicate that,

like I mentioned, the disadvantage of us experiencing this is that we can create struggle, antagonism,

and not only outer conflict, but inner conflict.


You know, going back to that wheel, think about when you felt angry. I often feel like a pain in my

stomach when I feel angry. My heart beats faster. I feel hot, I feel agitated. So physically, what’s that

doing? Your adrenaline levels are up, your blood pressure’s up, everything’s up. So it is about being able

to catch yourself while you’re in this state to bring awareness to it.


We’re also really judgmental when we’re in this state of I need to win. I’m right, you are wrong. Black’s

white, right? We argue. It’s more important to be right than, you know, to listen and for to people to be

heard. It’s important to prove that they’re wrong. This is what we feel when we’re in this state. We limit

our options cause we’re still quite blinkered because we’re focused on if something goes wrong, we look

for someone who’s to blame.


Yeah. We can manage by fear and force and coercion. And like I say, yeah, we’re problem focused. So in

the chat again, where does this show up? It may not show up. I coach people who have actually a very

difficult relationship with anger, especially women actually, interestingly, because for, for a long, long

time, if you are an angry woman, then my god you are labeled as overly emotional. And a bit crazy. But

actually anger is a natural emotion and harnessed it’s powerful. It’s very powerful. So yeah, let me know.

Cleaning and organising is very grounding. Brilliant. Thank you Lisa for sharing. Yeah. Where does this

show up for you in your life and your business? What pisses you off? <Laugh>? What gets you angry?

That can be powerful internally and externally. Feel free to share it in the chat, but if you don’t, if you

would. Yeah, if you don’t want to, that’s totally fine too.


And I just ask it cause it’s, I’m, I think I’m doing my own head in with it. It probably doesn’t even matter.

But why have you used the term conflicted business owner for this one? I’m not kind of getting that.

Why conflicted? You mean conflicted internally or


Hmm. Yeah, no, great question Alex. Yeah, so there’s a few different, like, I suppose words and

associations. Conflicted basically means resistance. So you’ve got this push pull energy, so something

you’ve got that yeah, that inner conflict and outer conflict actually because you’re wanting to do

something and you can’t quite get there. So it’s that kind of false energy that’s butting heads. So that’s

why I’ve, I’ve gone with conflicting energy. Yeah. Does that answer your question? It’s also, you know, as

you’ve rightly pointed out, words conjure up different things for different people, right? So that’s gonna,

you know, trigger something in you of what does that mean? Because some words have negative

connotations and some words have positive connotations. And, and bring awareness to that, you know

for sure because we, we all have different meanings of things.


I mean, I guess what I’m getting from this is, is it’s, it, it’s a sort of state in the mind where you just, I say

on it, but not necessarily. It’s like anything in your way, that’s what you’re charging through. So maybe

it’s like you say in the advantages, it’s good in in some ways, but potentially it’s, it’s the mess you’re

leaving behind you.


Yes. Yeah, exactly. It’s,


So yes, you, you, you’re getting through, you’re charging through whatever sort of tasks, barriers you’ve

got. Yeah. But it’s the, maybe it’s the debris behind which isn’t the good thing. Yes. It’s, it’s, it’s almost

using anger to say, right, sort of screw this. Yeah. I’m on it now. I’m going through this. I’m not gonna

take any shit. But yeah, the disadvantage is medium and long term damage, I guess.


Yeah, totally. If you think about from a, from a car analogy, you can’t drive around a hundred mile an

hour everywhere, you would make a right mess and you would burn loads of fuel. The same is true for

us, like in short, in intentional bursts. This is incredible energy. You can get so much done with this

intentionally. And then when we’re intentional about it, we can be, we can take more of the advantages

and leave more of the disadvantages because you are being selective about like bringing some tenacity

to something. Like you say like, I’m gonna do this, right? That’s, that’s, you know, that’s a healthy thing.

But just knowing that this isn’t sustainable, we can’t always live in this space.


Okay, let’s keep trucking cause I’m conscious of time. But thank you Alex for sharing that. So level three.

So we’re going up through the levels one, all about powerlessness. Two, conflict. Three, this is where I

spent most of my life before I did my coaching – coping <laugh>.


So in here the core thought is, well I need to win, but you know, it’s okay if you do too. This is the I’m

fine mask, this is underneath it all. I’m really not fine, but I’m gonna be do a really good like presentation

of somebody who’s fine. The core feeling can be this fake acceptance. Knowing that, you know, staying

in this coping mechanism of just keeping going even though you know, it’s like not good at all for you. It

can be this like slow burn, like, and it can almost go unnoticed.


Which ironically then has you fall often into like level one powerlessness cause you’re exhausted and

then ricochet up to conflicted because you’re angry with yourself that you coped for that long. I speak

from a personal experience. So, you know, here the core action can be that we tolerate and rationalise

things away so we can be very in our head and disconnected from our body. When we experience this

coping mechanism, like we just need to get through this, the disadvantages, like I’ve mentioned, being

stuck in your head, we’re really prone to sit on the fence and not rock the boat and play it safe even

though we may know that we are starting to stagnate. So the stagnation can begin by spending too

much time in this level of energy and then we end up falling into again, powerlessness and, and also

conflict because we will judge ourselves for the fact we spent so long there.


We can justify things we can brush them under the carpet. We can stay in our comfort zone. Because

why risk it? I’m, I’m absolutely fine. I mean, it’s fine it’s fine. You know, I mean my boss is a total jerk, but

it’s alright. I get paid every month, it’s fine. Right? So we can argue for our limitations. We can argue for

what’s not going right. The advantages here is that we can keep moving forward no matter what. We

have so many different coping mechanisms to help us just keep going. Just keep topping up, keep to,

you know, keep, I had six cups of coffee today, I didn’t, but you know, that kind of keeping my energy

up. But what is that doing to you long term? You are easily able to engage with people because you can

still, you know, in that level two conflict, you’re easy to work with people, but your cup is kind of slowly

being drained, basically.


And you are determined to keep moving forward and get what you want. So it’s a really tricky one here.

I would say it’s the amount of time that we spend here, you know, for anyone who’s reflecting this and

thinking, oh yeah, where am I in my comfort zone? What do I need to know that, or where, where do I

need to let go or move on? Is it time to let go of something? Please do feel free to share in the chat what

resonates with you here, Alison, you are relating to the conflicted for sharing. Feel like you’re steam

rolling everything, right? Okay.


But this one resonates, but I think I’m stuck more in the disadvantaged side of it. Okay. Okay. Yeah, we

can get stuck in our head. So the exercises that I’m gonna share towards the end are gonna help you. So

Catherine, I think this was pretty much me throughout lockdown, right? Struggling to get out of it. Yeah,

I think absolutely in lockdown makes so much sense, right? That, that you end up kind of just adapting

one way and then getting comfortable with adapting that adaptation and then having to readapt the

other way. So that wave I kind of think that this is where there’s not very many waves, like you’re just

bobbing along the water. And so you can rationalize a wave. Well, I don’t need to paddle, you know, or

maybe I’m, I’m paddling almost a bit too much because I just need to keep going in, in here.


So it’s, yeah, it’s a very, it’s a very tricky one Heather, it can feel quite numb. Yeah. Yeah. Because we’re

still in our heads, we numb out of our bodies as a coping mechanism, right Hannah? Yes. Yeah. Very easy

to convince yourself everything’s fine. Oh yeah. That’s why it is a coping mechanism because we can

brush things into the carpet, but that soon that carpet begins like to be a mountain and we trip over it.

So let’s keep going.


Four is the next one. So we’re climbing up to seven. This is the caring business owner or the

compassionate business owner. So again, neither good nor bad, but there is a kind of light side and a

shadow side. Advantages and disadvantages here. The core thought might be, I want you to win. Doesn’t

matter about me, never mind about me. The feeling can be compassion, empathy, care. I love helping



The core action can be giving support, being of service. How best can I serve you for those of us in

service businesses. This can be you know, a beautiful thing, but it can also be a very draining thing. The

disadvantages speak for themselves. We can get caught up in other people’s dramas and get sucked in.

Your motivation can be more about being liked, the main productive. So a bit of people pleasing, a

willing horse. We might have few boundaries and just think, oh well, you know, it doesn’t matter about

my capacity that I have. I’m just gonna, you know, keep on giving cause it makes me feel good that I’m

making somebody else feel good. It’s actually quite manipulative underneath it all. And so we can try

and pour from an empty cup which doesn’t work long term.


The advantages we take a little personally cuz we’re so focused on the other. We truly care about

people. We’re compassionate, we’re caring. People turn to us and yeah, being of service is really, really

important to us. So it’s a real mixed bag here. This is about finding your sweet spot here. So I’m, I’d be

really curious to know what resonates with you at this level. Are you overly compassionate? Do you

maybe give a lot and not receive a lot? In fact, that might be a good question to ask yourself. How

comfortable are you asking for help? How comfortable are you open to receive that help? What comes



It’s, I mean, I’d say for me it’s definitely a massive part for me in business and in, in my life is just forever





You know, people, people that I’m working with and will know, I’ll often talk about that phrase, if you

can’t pull from an empty bottle, which I’m forever trying to do. I feel both in my personal life, family life

and in work. I know I even years and years ago, I used to give the example of imagine, well, I guess guess

it’s obvious why I would’ve picked dunk bine on my shoulder, would just have my life as a business

owner. Just, what the hell are you playing at you doing far too much here. Far too much there. You’re

helping them with this. You shouldn’t be doing that. It’s a massive thing for me, I guess partly cuz just

who I am as a person. I am a sort of a giver. But getting that balance so that I’m, you know, making a

profit, I’m actually, you know, instead of sort of helping everyone else survive. Yeah. And, and struggling





Is, it’s kind of weird cause you feel like you need to be more selfish and then yet that feels such a, an evil

word being selfish, but you kind have to be Yeah, I I’ve been told I’m too selfless.


Mm-Hmm. Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, but it’s funny, isn’t it? And thank you for sharing, Alex. I think that

probably resonated, it resonated with me. I, I mean, you know, one of the reasons why I’m doing what

I’m doing is that this has been a passion of mine for years, long before I trained in it. When you, when

you’re wired to give, it’s a beautiful thing. However, <laugh> you know, if we burn ourselves out, then

we can’t help as many people. And so it’s that old adage of remembering to put your own oxygen mask

on first before you help others. Because, you know, if you deplete yourself constantly of your energy,

you’ve got nothing left to give. And it can hugely impact like so many different areas of your life. And so I

think you’re absolutely right. Selfishness has got a really bad reputation and it’s not really about being



I think what I’m gonna share with you is about the self-awareness piece, which is to check in with

yourself. What level, what capacity am I at? Like, I I use a beautiful analogy a lot with myself. I use red,

amber, green, green means I’m a ball of energy. I’m good to go. Brilliant. Amber is, I’m half full. Red is,

I’m emptying. I haven’t got capacity. And if you haven’t got capacity, that’s when you can say no. And it’s

a practice because these are all patterns of behaviour. Let me read in the chat. My current fave saying,

don’t set yourself on fire, keep youself warm. Yes. I love that Alison. That’s brilliant. I’ve had to get

better at recognising that I need boundaries. Yes, absolutely. Catherine definitely relate to this one more

so the advantages, because I’ve learned the hard way. Yeah, you do.


I think you get, you get burned. Because the thing is as well, people will take, right? And so you, we

teach people how to treat us in what we allow and tolerate. And that’s why sometimes you can think,

you know, okay, you know, as a service provider for you Catherine for fitness and your nutrition, well I

actually wanna help as many people as I can. If I burn myself out, then I can’t help as many people. It’s

just not possible. So it is about finding that sweet spot of, actually I’ll give this, but I won’t go the extra

mile cause you don’t need to. Yeah, I’ll listen. Just need to put it into practice, which is easier said than

done. Well that’s why you’re here, Alison, and I’m gonna give you some tools to help you. So it’s, it’s all

good, right?


Let’s keep trucking, I’m conscious of the time. We are okay, we might run for another 20 minutes. If you,

if you need to bob off, then obviously you can watch on replay. But if you can stay then that would be

great. But I’ll totally understand if you can’t.


So level five, we’re coming up, we’re coming out. Opportunities. This is the motivated business owner.

So think of someone just full of ideas. Full. This is all about win-win. The thought is how can we both

win? That’s a great idea. The core feeling, excited, optimistic, energised. Oh my god, there’s

opportunites everywhere. The core action can be about taking leaps of inspired action. So we’re literally

effervescent. And so we can just be like, yeah, let’s do it. So this is very like, bubbling energy. You’re

probably thinking, well what possible disadvantage is there gonna be?


So we can get overwhelmed really quickly if we stay in this space. And we can experience analysis

paralysis. So it’s almost like too much all at the same time. And at times we’re gonna be a little bit overly

optimistic and jump before we look. So we take maybe some risks that aren’t very calculated. And yeah,

we can become a bit scattered, over excited and not particularly productive. So again, it’s like this

spilling out of energy. The advantages, obviously as we see opportunities everywhere, again, we don’t

really take anything personally when we’re experiencing this because we’re so focused on our passion

and project or what we’re doing. We don’t have time to like bother about people’s drama or anything

like that. We have little or no judgment.


You know, I, I’ve written at the end there often I find if something goes wrong and I’m in this space, this

level of energy, then I’ll go, oh, plot twist. I wonder what’s gonna happen now. So it’s seeing everything

as an opportunity, even the stuff that goes terribly wrong. It’s seeing everything as a learning

opportunity and a, and a growth opportunity as well. So what relates in your business? How does this

relate to you?


I’m just reading Helen, your comment from the last slide about the caring level of energy, it relates to

you and your pricing very much. So under charged, because I don’t want everyone to be able to access

my service or you want everyone to access your service even for the disadvantaged. Yes. I think that’s

very powerful. No problem Sue. Yeah, catch it on replay. No problem at all. Thanks for joining. But yeah

Helen, I think, you know, we do some deeper dives around this. Think about it this way actually. If you

had a product or a service where you could charge people who could afford it, then maybe that would

then pay for people who couldn’t afford it. So there’s loads of different models that you can still give.

But essentially as well, it’s about valuing yourself as well. And that’s really important, although I get so

many ideas and I try to do them all <laugh>. So I’m learning to add them to an ideas list and then

organise them. I love that. Beautiful. Alex, this resonates with my desire to help everyone take on

challenges without always considering the risks. Yeah, no problem, Elizabeth. Take care. Thanks for

Rebecca, this is where I’m at my best work wise. I do have issues with keeping on top of things. Yes, I

mean this is for me, I can get to this place. I almost got to this place, putting this presentation together

cause I wanted to put so much in. But I had to actually take stuff out because I knew that I only had a

limited amount of time. So yeah, let’s keep trucking. We’re nearly there.


So six is the next energy level, the state of being. And this is all about being an inflow business owner. So

here the mantra is everyone always wins no matter what. You have this trust in life, trust in yourself,

trust in the universe. The core feeling is you feel calm, grounded, focused. And you say, well,

everything’s unfolding naturally. You know, you can wait, you can kind of, yeah, just help this intuitive

way of running your business that you don’t have to hustle cause you believe that everything’s

happening in divine timing.


You’re in flow. So you take inspired action from a place of relaxed focus. So very calm, very relaxed, but

actually very productive cause you’re just not carrying all of that other energy, fractious energy, you’re

calm, centred and able to focus on what you’re doing. The advantages on this like I just said, relaxed

concentration and focus. Yes, please. I’d like more of that. You play in your zone of genius, which is your

natural talents, what comes most naturally to you that helps you take action effortlessly. You don’t have

to force it, it just happens. And you can seem to collapse time. Like, you know, if you are in that

beautiful space, you’re like, oh, has a day gone already, I’ve just been in my happy place. No problem,

Kathryn, take care.


Lisa, decision fatigue is real. I have to delegate the non-mission critical things. Yeah, totally. So yeah,

what resonates for you here? The disadvantages obviously around this is you, you can actually almost

become a little bit too ethereal and too kind of detached from life in a way you can like live in your own

bubble, which is a beautiful thing, but can also be counterintuitive, counterproductive to other people in

your network potentially. Yeah, this, when you’re in this flow state, you might have real difficulty

relating to somebody who’s, you know, level one powerlessness or level two conflicted. It just pulls

apart in terms of your, your lived experience. So yeah, this is very much where your zone of genius

comes in. This is me when I’m working so focused, but then totally different when I move away from my



Beautiful. As I think, you know, this is the other thing to think about what environment cultivates this

state of mind? What smells, what you know, what environment, what can you cultivate to really help

you get into this zone? Yeah, love this zone. I feel at peace here. Yeah. Yeah. No, it’s a beautiful place I

think. But if you can experience that and experience that in your body, right, it’s really, really powerful.

Very powerful.


Okay, I’m gonna keep moving on cause of time. The last and final is the conscious business owner. So

this is a little bit kind of meta <laugh> above, but this is all around winning and losing our illusions. And

you know, it’s, it’s, it’s about feeling deeply calm and balanced, whatever’s happening. So hence the GIF

that I’ve chosen here. It’s, it’s everything is perfectly imperfect. And it’s this strong belief in the polarity

and the duality of life that actually, you know what, there is ying, there is yang, there is light, there is

dark, there is, you know, high emotion, low emotion, and it all plays a part and it’s all perfectly unfolding

as it should.


When we reach this level of energy, we can choose any of the others consciously. Now again, being, I

mean, it’s funny the training I’ve just done, the, my main teacher in the breathwork facilitation is very

spiritual person. And I saw that actually the, the amazing advantages. He’d seemed very calm and

centred and focused, which was a beautiful energy to be in. But I did sometimes feel like he was a bit

detached from people. Like he wouldn’t always resonate. And so that is the disadvantage of kind of

living at this flighty, floaty level of energy where you are untouchable. Nothing, nothing pings you. We’re

human, right? And so of course we’re gonna get sad, sometimes angry, sometimes stuck in coping

mechanisms. Sometimes people please and this can be every day. Like we can ricochet up and down

these levels all day long.


But this is all about really practicing consciousness. Okay. some great things to keep in mind. Lovely.

Chat later. Thank you. Alex, impatient with others affects me when I’m in, when you’re in flow. Yeah. So

yeah, this level seven is, is a one that I’m trying to cultivate and practice for sure. But the exercises that

we’re gonna go through are gonna help you. So in summary, these are all of the energy levels, all of the

states of being. And just to remind you all that you all have the power inside of you to access the

advantages of each of these types of energy and to reduce the disadvantages you all do. So here’s the

tools. These are the tools that I practice and they’re super simple about the power is in the practice.


So step one, bring awareness. So notice how you feel on the inside. Observe yourself from the outside.

So bodily and not bodily. So if I’m angry, for example I will tune in to, oh, I feel hot, I feel agitated, I feel

constricted. Oh, my stomach feels tight. Oh, I feel like, oh, I feel like, yeah, my, my fingers, all my body

language is constricted. I’m hunched, I’m animated, my breath will shorten. And so it’ll signal my body is

signaling to me that I’m in a state of anger. I’m a state of conflict. And so I can then view myself. So

pretend you’re in a drone and you can zoom up and you can view yourself from above. Oh, look,

Christina seems to be a little bit angry right now. What’s going on? So bring awareness to it. Accept that,

okay, I feel angry right now. Totally fine.


Feel angry right now. Feel really, really angry right now. I’m gonna acknowledge it and label it and be

with it, right? I’m not gonna try and make myself wrong. I feel the way I feel and that’s totally fine. So

compassionate curiosity. Oh, I wonder what’s created, where’s this anger come from? And not judging

it, not making yourself wrong. And then the third step is the choice that, okay, so what I feel angry. Now

what do I unconsciously stay in that anger and burn myself out and get frustrated and bang my head

against a brick wall? Or do I notice that, ah, I’ve got an option, I’ve got all of these different levels of

energy that I can get to I just need to shift myself. So here there’s three exercises I’m gonna take you

through. The first one is release and relax where we shift down to the gears.


The next one is ground and balance, where we can reset our energy. And then the final one is about

powering up and energising ourselves from the inside out. Okay, copies of this are gonna be in the hub

as well. So power of the breath. The quickest way to shift your state of being is through your breath. We

have a central nervous system and it has two arms. One is our parasympathetic central part of our

nervous system, and the other one is the sympathetic nervous system. Sympathetic is where fight or

flight resides. So when you get pinged by anger, that’s what sets you off, and that’s what gets you ready

to flee, to fight, to take it on. It sends a message to your whole body to send adrenaline, hormone and

blood all the way through to your extremities, to your hands, to your legs, to have you move.


Because you’re getting ready to fight. You’re getting ready to get the hell outta dodge or to stand up for

yourself. So that surge is your parasympathetic, your fight or flight. Your parasympathetic is your rest

and digest state of being. And we can access this most quickly through our breath. And so there are

three types of breathing exercise that we can go to here. The first one is the triangular style of

breathing, which is where we essentially are relaxing our system. We are shifting ourself from fight or

flight interest and digest. So we are signaling our body that it’s safe and that we can release any tension.

Another exercise that I like to do here, if I’m particularly agitated and angry, I will do a shaking exercise.

I’ll put some music on and I will physically shake in nature. You can see the animals do this.


So when an animal is attacked you, you will actually see them shake and it is shaking off the energy,

shaking the energy through your system, through your cells to free you of this energy. So with the

relaxing breath, you inhale through, through your nose for four, you hold for seven and you exhale for it.

And then you can repeat a number of cycles for a few minutes, take yourself off to a place where you

won’t get distracted. Do it in the toilet, do it wherever you want. If you work from home, then obviously

you’ve got spaces, hopefully, but really notice, bring awareness, accept that you may be feeling what

you’re feeling, and then right, what’s the tool I’m gonna use? Do I actually need a relaxing release? The

next one is balancing. So box, balance, stability. This is this breath really quickly re-instate the sense of



So balancing out our inhale, exhale with a couple of holds. So inhale for four, hold for four, exhale for

four, hold again for four and repeat. And again, do this for a few cycles. And notice how different you

feel in your body. You’re going inside and your breath is working on your central nervous system. Then

the final one is the energising breath. Now this is breathing through your mouth and it’s designed to get

you, you know, so think about this. If you wanna give up caffeine, or look to reduce your coffee intake.

Instead of having a coffee in the morning, try a circular breath technique. So you are breathing in

through your mouth and out through your mouth in a circular motion and we are taking out any pauses.

So no holds. So it looks like this takes a bit of practice because you can get very dry. But the more you

practice and if you sit or lie, it’s actually very easy to do. But again, what you’re doing is you are ramping

up. So you’re coming from rest and digest into your sympathetic fight or flight to give you a burst of

energy to to begin to move forward. Okay, any questions on that before I zoom on? We’re getting

towards the end, it’s 10 past.


Feel free to put it in the chat on mute, please say, oh, you like to dance to release, fight or flight. Yes.

Beautiful. Absolutely. Yeah. Beautiful. Yeah, there’s so many different techniques, but I find that these

three are a great go to. So if you, you know, have taken that document and you’re filling in, okay, I might

be feeling very level one today and very, you know, do you actually, do you need further relaxation and

do you need some more sleep? Do you need to look after yourself or do you feel that actually I could

really do with some energy. I’m gonna do some solo breath breathing and just feel how, you know, the

practice is in the physical practice. So the effect is in the physical practice here.


And balancing is always a really good one too. Yeah, you’re aware of the box breath breathing but not so

much of the other two. Yeah, I mean, there’s so many, so, so many. But yeah, these are a good base.

And there’s a ton of information on YouTube as there is with all things. But certainly a good starting

place if you wanted to just yeah, begin. I’m actually, when I come back to the uk, I’m gonna start to put

on some actual breathwork sessions. So if you are interested to do some breath work and actually, you

know, tap into this, switching your energy and shifting it, then let me know. And I’ll keep you posted of,

of next events. And I mean, I’ll offer it in Mint obviously.


Okay, so power of choice. This is like I say, so scanning your body to access. Okay, where am I feeling this

in my body? Choose what, which one do I want? Do I wanna relax? Do I wanna balance, Do I wanna

energise, find a place without distraction or go practice this. Allow yourself to release the energy. Don’t

judge it, don’t try and stop it. Squash it fully, fully let it out. And give yourself time after you’ve done

breath work to just come back to your normal breath. Take a drink of water, you know, don’t rush to

your next thing. Just come back, come back home to yourself.

exposure. Brilliant. Yes. Oh, and splashing on your face. Yes. Yeah, when I did my course, we were on a

Greek island and and it wasn’t as cold as the North Sea, but we were jumping in the sea a lot. And it was

absolutely incredible, Lisa making a cup of tea. Yeah, I love this just to kind of have time and actually

putting, I mean, one of the best things I’ve found is attaching maybe a breathing practice to something

that I do already. So if I brush my teeth, for example, after I brush my teeth, I might straight away do a

breath work. Or you go and put a cup of tea on, and so while the kettle’s boiling, do a few rounds of

breath work, you can, you don’t have to, you know, you know, I think if you set the bar too high, you’ll

just never do it.


Yeah. Tension in the jaw. Yeah, we hold a lot of tension in our jaw for sure. So yeah, yeah, ice cold

showers the way forward. Yeah, the power, the power of that we have. So here’s the, the offer. If you’re
